UBQ Incorporated (“UBQ”, “we”, “us”) makes UBQ+ (ubqtas.com), software that hospital emergency departments use to assign patients to clinical teams, and the earlier version of it at ubqed.com. This policy explains what information we collect through UBQ+ and this website, ubqinc.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who uses UBQ+
UBQ+ is used by hospital staff, whose accounts are set up for them by their hospital. Patients do not use UBQ+.
Information we collect
- Account details, such as your name, work email address and mobile number.
- Information hospitals enter about their emergency department’s work, such as shifts, teams and patient assignments. This can include patient information.
- Usage and device information we need to run and secure the service, such as sign-in records, the browser and device you use, and your IP address.
How we use it
We use information to:
- provide UBQ+: sign you in, assign patients, show your team’s work, and send the notifications and text messages your work relies on;
- keep UBQ+ secure and working, and fix problems;
- answer you when you contact us;
- meet our legal obligations.
Patient information
Patient information is used only on behalf of the hospitals that use UBQ+, and only to provide the service. If you are a patient with a question about your information, please contact the hospital that treated you.
Text messages (SMS)
UBQ+ sends work text messages to hospital staff who ask for them: patient assignments, team alerts, messages from colleagues, and one-time codes. Staff add their mobile number in UBQ+, which confirms it with a code, or their hospital’s UBQ+ administrator adds it at their request.
- Message frequency varies.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to stop receiving messages. Reply HELP for help.
- Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in information are never sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We use them only to send these messages.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How we share information
We share information only:
- with third-party service providers that process it for us, such as for hosting, email, text messages, notifications to the UBQ+ phone app and the assistant in UBQ+, and only to provide the service;
- when the law requires it.
We do not sell customer or user data, and we do not share it for marketing or advertising.
Where it is stored and how it is protected
Data is hosted in the United States by a third-party cloud provider. We protect it with safeguards that include encryption, but no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
How long we keep it
We keep information for as long as it is needed under the hospital’s agreement with UBQ and as the law requires.
Your choices
If you work at a hospital that uses UBQ+, ask your hospital’s UBQ+ administrator, or contact us, to update or remove your information or your UBQ+ account. To stop text messages, reply STOP.
This website
ubqinc.com does not use advertising trackers or analytics, and does not use cookies to track you. Like any website, the servers that deliver it receive your IP address and browser details; we use them only to deliver and secure the site. The patient count on the home page is worked out in your browser and sends nothing to UBQ.
Children
UBQ+ and this website are not directed to children. Information about patients who are children is handled only on behalf of their hospital, as described above.
